You accept these guidelines when you join. They exist so the island stays a place for real friendship, dates, dive buddies and slow mornings — not bots, catfish or scams. Most are enforced by the app; all are enforced by our moderators.
Be a real, single person — 18+
- Use your real first and last name and your own recent photos.
- You must be 18 or older. Age is checked at sign-up.
- One account per person. Impersonation and duplicate accounts are removed.
- Complete verification — every member is photo- and identity-checked by a person.
No money, no off-app pressure
GaleraMatch is not a marketplace. This is the fastest way to be removed.
- Never ask for or send money, gift cards, or transfers (GCash, PayPal, bank, crypto — anything).
- Do not push people off-app to WhatsApp, Telegram, Viber or a phone number early — messages that do are flagged for review.
- No paid services, escorting, or solicitation of any kind.
- Bios or messages with money-transfer or off-app-contact language are blocked automatically.
Respect & consent
- No harassment, hate, threats, or sexual pressure. A no is a no.
- Be honest about your intent. Travelers won’t be shown to you for “serious” unless you both opt in.
- Keep private things private — don’t share other people’s photos, contacts or location.
- Don’t spam. Repeated identical openers are detected and rate-limited.
Meet responsibly
Meeting people is the point — do it the Galera way. First meetups are restricted to verified members, Galera-vetted public venues, and daytime windows, and we schedule a safety check-in afterwards. Please respect those guardrails; they protect everyone.
What gets you removed
Reports are reviewed by human moderators. Depending on severity, outcomes range from a warning or visibility limit to a lowered trust score or a permanent ban — with the most serious cases (underage, credible threats, coercion, severe scams) actioned first.
Decisions that ban an account are made by a person, logged, and appealable within 14 days by a different moderator. Filing an honest report never counts against you.
These guidelines evolve with the community. Serious or repeated violations end in a ban.
